![]() ![]() Now I have the problem, that I need more internal storage for my mac. Since the update on Catalina, iTunes was deactivated and my original own music files got into Apple Music, together with the streaming music files. Later changing to an iMac, the iTunes Library stack more and more music files. So I have started to listen to my own music over an iPod with Itunes Music on a Windows PC. I am using an Apple device since I am 14 years old. I have some issues with the Apple Music App and I can't figure that out by myself. This is my first post ever in the community forum of Apple. The only way to get it back was to re-subscribe.ĭelete the Apple Music streaming files from MacBook to get extra internal storage Hey there! Apple was unable or not willing to fix this for me. I expected that the Apple Music part of my library would be gone but that was only a small portion of the collection and I lost it all. However when I tried that my entire library went poof. A couple years ago I tried out Amazon music because I was already paying for Prime and some music was included. My motivation here is to protect my library from disappearing if I should ever opt out of my subscription. I would really appreciate a solution if anyone has one for me. This is working but having moved the first 85 gigabytes I must now delete the downloads to move on to the next part. The size of my library is 540 gigabytes but the size of my ssd is only 256 gigabytes so I’m doing it in sections. I’m trying to move my library to external storage and it seems I can only copy and paste to external storage music already downloaded to the Mac. There seem to be several ways to do this song by song but I can’t figure out if there’s a way to do it all at once. If its possible that would be neat because I could free up so much space.ĭownloaded music in iTunes I’m trying to remove downloaded music from iTunes to free up space. I read one article about keeping music on an external hard drive but I couldn't figure that out. I really need help because I basically have no storage left. I also have all my music on an external hard drive so I can start again but I don't want to because all my playlists will be deleted. I definitely don't have 53 GB of documents and I'm certain something is wrong with the music files that they show up twice. When I right click on the iTunes folder it says it is only 173 MB. Inside the music folder is my music as well as the iTunes folder. When I right click on music in finder and select get info it says 49 GB. This makes me think that my music has doubled somehow.īut looking at iTunes it says I have 49 GB of music. When I went to Manage it comes up with my music folder including in the documents storage space. If you have an older Mac that uses a PowerPC chip (2006 or earlier), you can use VirtualPC. ![]() ![]() For details on how to run AirMail on a Mac using WINE/Crossover see: Thanks to Stas’ Lewak for this information. WINE (specifically Crossover) runs as a program on your Mac, and provides AirMail the environment that AirMail needs in order to run. Using this approach you don’t need to buy a copy of Windows. In both cases you need to buy a copy of Windows.Īnother approach to running AirMail on a Mac is to use the Mac version of WINE. See BootCamp also works fine for Mac’s with Intel chips but does require re-booting to change between operating systems. Parallels has the advantage that you don’t have to re-boot to switch operating systems. You then run AirMail in the Windows environment on your Mac. If you have a newer Mac that uses an Intel chip you can use Parallels or BootCamp to run Windows. ![]()
